Support Postpartum

After childbirth it is so important to support new mothers in their healing and recovery. Oftentimes pregnant women are good at nourishing themselves as they grow the baby but then the focus might not be on helping mothers postpartum.

Acupuncture is an effective, natural treatment for helping new mothers cope with physical and mental challenges while nourishing and supporting the body’s adjustment to the new normal.

Breastfeeding can be difficult where there is low supply. Traditional Chinese Medicine focuses on the individual and examines the root cause or imbalance that is impacting supply. Using acupuncture we support the body in being able to produce more milk through strengthening and nourishing the mother.

Engorgement can be painful and distressing for a new mother. Whether you intend to breastfeed or not acupuncture can support you alongside lactation consultants and public health nurses.

Often times I have post partum clients not aware of everything acupuncture can assist with, it is used to treat Piles (Hemorrhoids), urinary incontinence and prolapse. Acupuncture treatment is also an all around treatment for balancing hormones and nourishing the body postpartum.

Please get in touch if you would like to include acupuncture as part of your postpartum care plan. Whatever supports you choose it is good to lean on them and I wish you a good experience postpartum where you enjoy the special time with your baby.
